Heartsaver® K-12 CPR AED + First Aid
The American Heart Association's HeartSaver® CPR AED + First Aid class trains participants to provide CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and respond to injuries in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This class is great for teachers, students and anyone who may respond to illnesses and injuries of a child until professional help arrives.

Who is this class for?
The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools class is available to K-12 school students, faculty, and staff. “Faculty” refers to teachers and coaches; “staff” refers to an employee of a K-12 school or K-12 school system.

AHA Heartsaver® K-12 CPR AED + First Aid is great for teachers, students and anyone who may respond to illnesses and injuries of a child until professional help arrives. This appointment is held live, in-person in a private office setting.

Class Completion Certification eCards
Upon completion of all class requirements, participants receive a Heartsaver® K-12 CPR AED + First Aid certification eCard from the American Heart Association, which is valid for two years.

Who should take a BLS Course?BLS (Basic Life Support) is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in various settings. This includes doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other medical professionals, as well as students entering clinical experiences in the medical field. It's also suitable for individuals in roles where BLS certification is required by their employer.

How long is the BLS Class?The length of the class varies depending on the learning option you choose. Instructor-led Initial and Renewal classes are scheduled for approximately 3 hours. For the BLS Blended Learning class, the online portion takes between 30-60 minutes to complete, and then the in-office hands on practice and skills check is approximately 30-45 minutes.

Does the HeartCode® BLS class include First Aid?First Aid can be purchased as an add-on to the HeartCode® BLS class for only $10. The First Aid lessons adds approximately 30 minutes to the class time.

Is a workbook required for my BLS class?AHA requires students to have access to the BLS Provider Manual. A BLS Provider Manual will be provided for you to use during class at no additional cost to you. You may also purchase a physical or electronic version of the manual, as well.
